Want

It is so clear to us of what -we want-from God.

In the book of Micah (6:8) the question raised – what does the Lord require of you? [What does the Lord want from us?]

To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

This is what matters to God.

We try to please our parents, our families, our friends, our spouses, children, our bosses, neighbors, professors, customers… but what really matters is aligning our daily steps with what matters to God.

Doing so will align our steps to prioritize how we please and communicate with others ..

Lord it’s about you – what will honor you – you are the daughters father.

Quench your thirst

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”   John 6:27-35

What does this mean, really? A whole book can be written (and probably has) on this one verse in the Bible. Here is a quick thought to help you dig deeper in the application of this one verse.

In life, we often wonder what else is out there, what are we missing, what did we do wrong, where did we go right. This verse plainly states that through accepting Jesus and his life played out through Bible recordings, he can give us what no food nor man can offer to fufill ALL of our needs.

Who ever believes in Him (His Story and His Purpose) will not just die and be buried on earth (being the end of- or purpose of -existing) and have eternal (ongoing) life with Him in Heaven. See John 3:16

There is a hunger in our souls that often we cannot quench in our lives here on Earth.. something may feel “missing.”

People can fly and travel all over the world looking for “something” to fill their souls and find themselves. Ultimately- God’s purpose for His people,  through Jesus examples here on Earth (written stories in the Bible) He can give us the “bread” and “water” that will quench our souls and save us from this cruel world we live in today.  We will long for nothing as long as we consume ( mentally and spiritually ) what God is wanting to offer to us.

Our lives on Earth, is not the end. It is just the beginning and my prayer for all of us… is to focus on how God is already trying to take our hunger and pain away, we just have to focus on Him.

Life is HARD. It may be a little easier for some than others..but one truth remains- God will never leave your side- you are his forever love- Anything you ever imagined or wanted out of a loving relationship- He is that.  He is our Father – even our Earthly Fathers cannot be compared to His love for us-

If you feel distant from the one true love that feeds our spirit, and you feel lost at times – realize that you are the one that took a step away from God- not Him from You. All you have to do, is turn around or take a step back- and you will feel His hug.

This song comes to mind-

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

I have to remind myself that I am the Fathers Daughter and I can get through anything (here on Earth) with Him at my side.  (see Philippians 4:13) I will never thirst or hunger for  anything that He cannot provide in His own time. – not my timing

Love to you all- pray for me- and I will be praying for you.

The woman who saved her people

For the record, I do not claim to be an expert in the book of Esther. This morning I re-read the book and a few things stuck out to me. First of all, the catch phrases for this book, read something like: courageous, queen, subtle approach, hiding true identity, triumph for her people, a woman’s influence.. and so on. Wouldn’t this catch your attention?

As my mind wondered about this woman named Esther, I wondered the origin or the meaning of her name. So I did what most people now do, I googled it.

As you read the book of Esther, you will learn that she is a Jew, living in the palace, and became the Wife of the King, Xerxes. Lets call him Xerox for short, and much easier to say (you know, like the copy machine).

Goomyrtle treegle states that Esther’s original name was Hadassah (Hebrew) meaning myrtle, or myrtle tree.  hmmmmm… ok that was not the courageous wordy description that I expected, or something like that. – side note- Myrtle Beach was named after the same type of trees 🙂  ok.. kinda.  It could mean that myrtle groves often hide or shade things.. you use your creative energy.
Google also states that her Persian name ( King Xerox ) could be derived from other names, but maybe the word star.

There are many versions and research you can read about Queen Esther on the internet. The story in the Bible reads just like a secular story- no mention of God. My NIV study Bible points out that God cares for His people, even when they are more “secular;” having less faith.   Was God’s plan to line up events so that she could be the one to help save her people (Jews) from being killed off?  ( reminds you of Hitler, huh)

Her uncle, Mordy (lets call him this) [Mordecai] sent messages to her letting her know what was planned on the outside of the “gates.”  You see, the King’s (best friend) [Haman] did not like that a Jew- lets say that Morty called him out on his (true) character- so Haman asked the King to make a law to kill all Jews on a certain day. You see, King Zerox did not know that Esther- his new chosen wife- was a Jew, herself.

You should read the short story, so that all this makes more sense, but this is a couple of things that jumped out at me:

  1. The King’s first wife did not do what he asked her to do- come to him. [ on the internet it states that she was covered in boils and blisters and lost her beauty, so the King got rid of her.]
  2. It is interesting history, that he called many virgins to stay at the castle for a year, to get [?] beautified, before he picked one.
  3. It was because of Esther’s planning and beauty that she was able to convince the King.. and it was not that she “laid” with him.  She actually had not been – called to him in over 30 days. (If I read right)
  4. I am not sure if this book is more about Esther or Morty- standing tall for his people. I do know that it took both of them: One on the outside and one on the inside of the King’s gates.
  5. Speaking of Haman’s (high horse) read 6:6-11. The King asks Haman, “What should be done for the man the king delights to honor?”  Haman started describing what honor -he- wanted. Well after he described it, the King told Haman to go get Morty and give him this honor!  Ha!  I bet Haman was shocked, embarrassed, and MAD!
  6. Read 5:9-14  Being boastful and vindictive, Haman persuaded by his family, built gallows to kill Morty. Those were the same gallows that were used to kill Haman.
  • Brings a whole new perspective of what goes around comes around.
  • It also, made me think of the  commercial-  when the big brother had to share something with the younger brother, so he splits it thinking that he can keep the larger portion and give the smaller portion to his little brother- well it back fires on him- he actually had to give the little brother the piece that he intended for himself.

Read the book of Esther and see what you think. It is found in the old testament between Nehemiah and Job. Don’t worry, it is just a couple of pages long.

If we pray that God can use us {no matter how spiritual we feel} at the right time- to do the right thing, in the right circumstance, no matter who we are, it may cause us to be on the look out to make sure we can assist in that moment- to His glory.

answers

When you do not know what to do..  don’t worry, you do not have to know.

When you do not have the strength to keep fighting… do not worry, you do not have to..

When you feel things are out of control.. do not worry, you are not in control anyway..

-God does not always give us the answers or fixes our problems as fast as we feel they should be fixed.

-While crying out in desperation for the 100th time, God told me very subtly that I do not have to have the strength, that is why we have him. Do you know how many times in the last decade that I have heard and spoke those churchy, spiritual words, understood, them, thanked God for being the support and comforter in my life?… This time it was different.  It was different, enough, to get me through that hour, that day, and that particular week.  Has the severity or reality of hearing God in that moment wore off… a little, BUT it gives me hope that I will remember HE did reach out to me. I forget those subtle moments, that get lost in the overwhelming emotions in this season of my life. So while I am spinning circles in this thing called life, I may forget to give God control, feel guilty when I should know better- but when I come to my senses, I know in my heart, He already has the strength I need to survive, the control of my life to help me and not harm me, and that I will never know the answers- to a lot of things. I just have to have faith- to look to God, when I feel as if I need all of the above. Am I cured, lol. No, but in the midst of heartache and lack of understanding, I know- I am not alone.

Hello, from the other side…

You know, as a woman especially, it seems we spend most of our days searching  for ways that we are loved unconditionally. We look to these examples as proof of our importance; Or confirmation that we are a good person; or doing the right thing.

It seems most days are filled with conditions. For example, if you do (this), then you will be rewarded with (this).

For goodness sake even the weather is conditional.

[my mood is conditional on the weather; my clothes are conditional on the weather, my day is conditional on how I start it.. ]

love should not be conditional

let me be clear. Tough Love- should still be unconditional.

The one person, the one idea, the one example, the one love that is UNCONDITIONAL is God.

Lord, why is it that I starve for mankinds unconditional love and actions but have a hard time accepting your UNCONDITIONAL love?

yours is free… It’s right in front of me… And I do not have to be a certain way to accept it…

Hello, from the other side…… !!!!!!!

.. The very popular secular song by {Adele} came to mind as the desperation of conditional versus God’s unconditional love brought music to my ears.

God, is saying “Hello”..” I am calling:” From the other side of your life conditions..

His love and mine,

thefathersdaughter

What you and only you can offer.

1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (NIV)

Thinking of you, the DOTK

How?

How to be authentic?

  • Integrity

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on you. (Psalm 25:21)

  • Reputation

Fight against those who fight against him (Psalm 35:1)

If you are for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

  • Priorities

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

Something for you to think about….

The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it. (Matthew 13:45-46)
