You Do Not Have to Feel to Believe.

Let someone know you are thinking of them.

When someone comes to mind, and your not sure why. Stop and say a prayer for them. A prayer, by asking God to intercede and let them know He is there to work out ANYTHING for the good, if only you trust and believe even when you do not FEEL.

You never know, your one random text, email, phone call just may give them the pep in their step for the day.

Refection- [John 17:9] love.prayer

One of my favorite songs says “somebody’s praying for me and I can feel it.”   It brings sincere, emotion to my soul to know that someone unselfishly is thinking or praying for me. AND.. they do not even know what I am going through. It was just a random text, where someone honored God and obeyed reaching out to let someone know they are on someones mind…. Trust me, there is ALWAYS a reason.

prayLet someone know you are thinking of them. Remind them that there are two spirits lifting them up that day. Your’s and God’s.

A story from my heart, to encourage you:

I still remember the feeling the day I was pulled aside by a lady that said she wanted to tell me something. This did not happen at church either … 🙂  She looked a little nervous, but looked me in the eye, in a private corner of a large building. She said, ” when I saw you the other day, I had a stirring in my soul. I struggled all weekend but knew I must obey the words that were given to me- to SHARE with YOU. An overwhelming sense of emotion started to roll in my body.

She continued with, “God told me to tell you, that He loves you, He will never leave your side and you are His. As she handed me a little card with a scripture, she said we can trust God’s word because it is the TRUTH.

At this point my eyes were swelling and a sensation of warmth filled my mind body and spirit. I told her that I was very thankful that she obeyed God and had the courage to share this with me. Out loud I thanked God for this person and her obedience to Him.

That experience thrives in me to this day. I knew in my heart that this lady was sincere, and that she had struggled to just come out, randomly and share words that God asked her to…. to someone she really did not know. I am sure she was nervous to what I would say- how I would react…..  I could tell the burden was lifted off of her spirit as we hugged and walked away.

How do I know it was God? Let me tell you.

It was Monday, I was experiencing insecurities, anxiety, and personally struggling to maintain a “normal” person appearance. Just that morning, I had my quiet time with God. I prayed, knowing in faith and confidence- with out doubt-that He had me covered and protected for that particular day. I declared it would be so. I placed my trust in HIM and asked that I continue to FEEL HIS presence throughout the day. I knew that it would only be His strength, not mine, that would get me through the day/week/moment/forever. He knew me and knows that sometimes reading and praying is not enough for me. (don’t judge me:). He sent an obedient lady, to touch me, hold my hand, hug me and tell the the words that GOD knew I needed to Hear- From Him.

After I walked back to my office  (floated).. to place all the emotions in the proper place. I rejoiced. I was thankful. I felt loved. I knew I was. BUT it felt really nice to have it in your face.

I knew I had to go back to share something with this lady. Because she was obedient, I wanted to make sure she knew how much she touched me. I was able to feel God, through this lady. The supernatural works through us if we obey.  Just think. What if she never shared the human words to me that day. It would not have increased my confidence, and give me a story to encourage you. God does not have to prove anything to me/us. He loves me, and at the right time with my trust, He delivered me a gift through the special moment between the lady and I.

I knew she was busy so I wanted to keep it short. I thanked her for being obedient to His word. As we spoke quietly I told her my prayer for that morning. I also showed her the bracelet I had made with the letters DOTK. I explained to her that it meant Daughter of a King.  We both knew that, the three of us were on the same page, same chapter and same book that day. All the pieces God had placed together that day were perfect and just what the lady and I needed. As I walked away we both smiled and raised our hands at the same time, unplanned, to honor God.

God is Good All the time- This proves it.  When you don’t feel it, or someone does not come to you to share the WORD- Remember He is always there. Cherish the small moments and thrive on His Truth all the days of your life. Do not forget that you are the pineapple of His eye.

prayer

Lord, I pray for anyone that reads the words on this page. My prayer is that a heart opens  and allows vulnerability and confidence that YOU HAVE THIS! YOU are the KING. Allow the opportunity for them to believe and allow them to Trust and give you there day, their emotions, their life.  Thank you for being in charge and in control even when situations feel out of control. In Jesus Christs name-Amen

“If you can?”

He Can

He Will

He Does

Mark 9:23

( Jesus was asked to release evil, from a child )- If He could....

“If you can?” said Jesus.

“Everything is possible for him who believes.”

(27) Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

HE is able

HE will

HE DOES!

Today: Think about what you are doubting that God can do for you.

Then I want you to Say OUT LOUD. HE is ABLE, HE WILL and HE DOES!

If you go to God first with your needs, you can stop there. You must believe that in HIS time and your discipline you will realize just how much HE can and DOES for you.

People can give great advice, ( you can also pay them a lot of $ to do so) BUT it is only God that can intervene in your situation and actually do something about it. ( let me be clear we all have responsibility and accountability to be open to hear God and assist in your situation.

You cannot hear God, if you are bitter, closed off, or express no emotions.

Remember, Jesus Wept.  (John 11:35)

You do not have to carry the weight on your shoulders; God is asking you not to.

What will you do today?

Lord, I pray for all who are struggling in circumstances in their life.  It could be great or small. Lord help us to remember that we are not alone, you ARE THERE right beside us, and that you want us to lean on you for understanding.

For those of you who need to be reminded of miracles, read Mark 9:17-23, 28-29 ( wait a minute- We all need to be reminding of miracles.) If we only believed, maybe we would see more on earth today.

Deep and Wide….

Have you ever been in a moment and multiple thoughts hit you at once? It happened to me yesterday driving down the road. Let’s just say, God must have “took the wheel.”… something for others to be thankful for…

Let your mind wander as I try to describe the thoughts and how they melted together in my SPIRIT.

(what I will call a vision from God)- Its my experience so I can call it what ever I want!)

1. The song by Hillsong United came on the radio: Ocean. God knew I needed that song at just that moment.

dark ocean

[this is the image that came to mind]

2. As I am singing this song from my soul, I get a flash of the children’s song, “Deep & Wide.”

ocean

..The Oh, so scary (fear), and the feeling of being lost (anxiety).

Taking the children’s song to a imaginary place that it was not intended to go (NEGATIVE).

3. The last thought or image in my head was a female, focused, sweating, running, …… pushing herself.. She was fighting through something emotional. She was driven and willing to sacrifice.

ready set run Run fight woman focused

Lord, I asked, what are you showing me?  I want to get it. I am listening. I need a touch from you.

I focused back on the song, the words, and the sound of my soul reaching out to God, with the peace of hope, that fills your soul, by listening to the words of the song. (OK.. that feeling, filled the entire car covering the sound of the key tone of my singing) I did not care, my God knew I was listening.

This is the thought that filled my body from head to the (pink) toenail .

1. The Ocean will always be DEEP and WIDE. [aka (the experiences in life)] There is the calm, beautiful sea and there are always storms.

2. We all have the choice to look to the SUN/Son. He is always there. Hand stretched toward you. (they say, that where you focus is where you go, such as walking, driving, including mental thoughts…. or shooting a gun:).. because the bear was chasing you of course.

3. We must fight our emotions, because they lie. The enemy knows that emotions are a weakness, for WOMEN..and men (read the entire book of Proverbs).

For the first time, in a long time, I felt the urge and motivation to FIGHT my enemy, because:

I am STRONG, I am never alone. I know the TRUTH.

Here are the lyrics that allowed God to move on my heart:

You call me out upon the waters

girl in oceanThe great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace

For I am Yours and You are mine

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Proverbs 16:3 NKJV

Keep YOUR MIND and YOUR MOUTH quiet so GOD can speak to you and establish your thoughts.

Meyer, Joyce (2010). Hearing From GOD each morning. p.176

For someone like me, you mys-well just go a head, and glue my mouth shut, for me to accomplish this. I want to do this and be disciplined and mature. So If I want to, then I have a motive to actually try to do this. You can too! Remember the saying, “you have two ears and one mouth.”  We are supposed to listen more than we speak!  (uhhhh)

If God formed us in His image, that means the design of our body especially our head, (brain, face, mouth, ears, eyes and nose) was designed with purpose. Right? Are you with me?  Yes, we all know this. If you are like me- bless you; we need a visual from time to time. Here is a daily reminder!

quiet reminderquiet lakestill god

DON’T TALK SO MUCH!

Thank goodness that God has more than one “ear!”…. HE is ALL EARS 🙂

My prayer for us today, is to really focus on the words that come out of our mouth. I promise you, that your head will not pop off- as it feels it could.

P.S. A little hint how the words get to your mouth:  What goes in your head, goes to your heart and comes out your mouth. That is why is it is so important to keep a gate for your thoughts that enter in. Ask God, to help you edit your thoughts prior to sinking in. He is the best, and waiting on us to ask.

Lord, I pray that with your strength, we can begin the daily practice of this discipline. Thank you for reminding me that I can do all things through you, who strengthens me! Remind me, not to lean on my own understanding (of thoughts) and to allow you to edit, one by one, from fact or fiction- THE TRUTH.

In Jesus Christ’s Name,

AMEN

Deep Breath. BREATHE.

Dedicated to DH,D,S

Do you know anyone named James?

James is a name found in the Bible. He has his own book with several chapters. His writings are found in the New Testament after Luke’s chapter and before 1 Peter.

In one of the last post I said that, “I believe that you are forgiven when you whole heartedly ask God to forgive you. With this notion I said that I believe that we have an accountability and responsibility to honor God” and serve Him, by our actions. We cannot get into Heaven by just being nice people, but doing as God tells us plus our faith and good works, we will be blessed spending eternal life with HIM.  That means we will not have to put up with this cruel and evil world that tempts us and harms us, placing enemies all around us.patience words

Who is James?

  1. Leader of the headquarters church in Jerusalem
  2. Knew how to speak with authority
  3. Tells us how we should act. (With no hidden meanings to analyze)
  4. His advice is very clear (easy to read- straight forward)
  5. In this chapter he was speaking to both rich and poor.
  6. Does not write about how to become a Christian, but rather how to act like one. Actions and motions expected by Christians
  7. James’s wants us to “Do not merely listen to the Word… Do what it says” (1:22)

This is how the book starts (1.1)

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ

This is his speech:

[ To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:]

Greetings.

James speaks on the following:dog patience

  1. Trials and Temptations
  2. Listening and doing
  3. Favoritism Forbidden
  4. Faith and Deeds
  5. Taming the TONGUE
  6. Two kinds of wisdom
  7. Submit Yourselves to God (SELF CONTROL)
  8. Boasting about tomorrow
  9. Warning to Rich Oppressors
  10. PAITENCE IN SUFFERING
  11. The Prayer of Faith

James coined the phrase “DOUBLE MINDED” (4.8)

Here is an exert  From Chapter 5:

(5:11) NIV

” As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”

[If you are feeling down on yourself, Read the book of JOB- He lost everything, and it tells of his struggles.] JOB is in the New Testament after Jeremiah and before Joel.

 (5:13-16) NIV

“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

My prayer is for us to Read the SHORT chapter (5pgs) of James, humble ourselves, and wait it out. Praise God in Prayer during good times and Bad.

 In Jesus Christ’s name, AMEN.

Wanting More

“Trust the Lord with all your heart. DO NOT lean on your own UNDERSTANDING. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

Since I re-dedicated my life and chose to think about my life differently, there has been a lot of question of HOW? Sometimes my soul would scream I want more of you Lord… so bad. I need you. Let me, the people pleaser, the overachiever, be the first to say: no one can make it happen for you, you have to find it on your own.

How do I get a closer relationship with Jesus Christ? How can I hear Him, with out wondering if this is me or HIM.  I actually pondered the thought of  needing a book, “How to Feel the Holy Spirit for Dummies”……. Was I wanting it too much?  Was I not being patient? Was I getting in my own way?  Well the thought itself, on the title of my pretend book, “The Holy Spirit for Dummies” was not justifiable or TRUE.

First, we are not dummies.

Second, the gift of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus left with us when He returned to Heaven, so we could  find discernment and understand what the TRUTH is. ( Read James 5)

You cannot just read something or try sleeping on the book and it stick in your brain/soul.  [insert sound of a magic wand here] You are automatically changed.- NOT. I promise you that if there was such a thing as a magical wand, I would have already bought it. – It takes hard work and discipline; You get back what you put into the effort. I can testify that it is not the easiest route either. When you desire something, or have received a taste of something spiritual- your soul begs of you to want more.

Why? The Lord made us in His image. Therefore there is a natural longing for this type of comfort. One must deny the ways of the world and decide to follow THE Word to find this feeling-The Truth. I do believe that if you ask the Lord for forgiveness that He will forgive you. But with that being said, we have the responsibility and accountability to serve and honor Him.- Everyday- not just that hour on Sunday or that second hour on Wednesday.

Let’s get back to the HOW…

It is simple. I will tell you the first steps I made. Maybe it will help you in some way.

1. So we know that God gives us a choice to follow Him. He will never make us.

I made the choice to figure out how I needed to change my heart. I had to humble myself. I had to admit that the route I was on was going the WRONG way. Let me just say, I had the petal to the metal. I was going so fast, I kept my eyes closed ignoring the fact what I knew I was doing, was wrong and not pleasing to God. I thought I was carefree, but I was being careless with the blessings God had given me.

I worked, played, I slept and spent a lot of time with a new smart phone.

How am I supposed to read the Bible (THE TRUTH). It is hard to read, when will I have time?

I CHOSE TO DELETE MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. If I did not have time for devotion, I did not have time to study everyone on Facebook either. Plus, I knew that I subconsciously compared my self to the happy couples, children and vacation photos.

I MADE TIME.  We will always make time for the things WE want to do right?

So the first steps are THAT SIMPLE.

Make a Choice

Visit churches that teach The Word, (PS if one of the home groups serves wine and cheese, try another church:)

Make time every day- AM preferred (yes, that meant that I could not wait until the last minute to get up!!!)

Don’t overwhelm yourself. Start small. Get a daily devotional book to get you started. (15 minutes in the AM)- It gets your day started off POSITIVELY.    I had to choose the AM, because I fell asleep reading in the evening. I am such an exciting person aren’t I!

Then start reading the scripture’s chapter from your devotion, so you can gain context from the Bible.

Journal during your quiet time.

When you feel that you are handling the 15 minute application and add on the chapters in the Bible.

Then find a reading guide that will keep you on tract. Daily reading that will allow you to read through the Bible. May I suggest starting with the New Testament. It is OK, It took me one year to read through the new testament. Then I started on the Old Testament. Oh my, did I start seeing how the bible was structured, who wrote the books and why.

Guess what. God used normal people to write stories in the Bible and tell how He worked through them for a purpose.

OK, its OK to get off of the reading schedule only if you are reading more than less. I personally read the book of Ruth. Guess what? It was a story I could read, imagine that!

PS I have never reactivated my Facebook account. I was using Facebook against my healing and started using my reading plan to feed my faith. BOY was I Hungary. I wanted more.

My prayer for each of you no matter where you are in your journey, that you take time to explore a spiritual daily devotional.- they have all kinds. Try this one. Hearing from God Each Morning by Joyce Meyer or this one, Proverbs31. Take time to slow down.  Just sit in the quiet if you need to. I promise, you need this.  Curl up with a comforter and focus on your COMFORTER-Jesus Christ. Smile and Thank Him for what you do have.

If you have read the bible through and through I want to suggest a new book for you. When the Natural Meets the Supernatural by Chris Sustar

I am praying for you.

Who are you listening to?

gossip

Whose voice are you listening to?

“I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and BEG of you in view of [all] the mercies of God to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all you member and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God.”     Romans 12:1

[In GOD’s name I BEG of YOU that you dedicate your body {MIND}, to be pleasing to GOD] LR

How can YOU do this? Offer Him our minds including our body to serve and worship GOD.

  1. Do not let the devil [enemy] use our mind.
  2. Realize that the mind is the enemy’s favorite battle ground.
  3. He knows your weakness. The enemy’s mission is to find out what the weakness is and play with the torment.
  4. This torment and thoughts will drown out the voice of God if we let them by choosing to listen to them.
  5. The enemy’s thoughts are easy to believe- they are sly and subtle
  6. The enemy lies, stills our JOY, and robs our PEACE
  7. He makes us feel ashamed, guilty, and unworthy.
  8. He feels our minds with ungodly thoughts thoughts about other people.
  9. We cannot STOP him BUT can RESIST in the power of Christ
  10. Then we CAN deliberately turn our thoughts toward God. These are the things he speaks to us. If God says it, you better believe it. It is the one and ONLY TRUTH.

Visual: You are a caregiver of two very needy children who fight for your attention. Your thought, is there enough of me to go around. Am I giving each one the attention they need from me? Am I showing favorites? Am I listening? Am I blocking out everything? Have I had enough and just want to scream for some peace and quiet?

(Are you imagining all this?) Can you relate to this in some degree, either at work or at home?

How this relates:

There are two voices competing for your attention in your MIND.

YOUR Choice (self-authority) is to focus on One or the OTHER.

One= God    the OTHER= the devil as your enemy

CHOOSE GOD’s Voice. Think about the things HE says- NOT the enemy

When our thoughts are filled with the right things, the WRONG ones have no room to enter. (The hotel is full)

My prayer is for us to give our mind to God. Choose His attention. In Jesus Christ’s name, AMEN.
